Shiga Kogen Resort Guide
Shiga Kogen is situated in the heart of the Johshinetsu Kogen National Park. Shiga Kogen is the largest ski resort in Japan, with 21 interlinked resorts all on one lift ticket!
Shiga covers a huge area and offers a great diversity of natural terrain. Snow quality and conditions are superb and Shiga has one of the longest seasons in Japan. The extensive lift network enables skiers and snowboarders to easily move around from one resort to the next. Plus a shuttle bus system running non-stop between resorts is convenient for getting between resorts.

Your Ski Express holiday includes the All Mountain Lift Pass allowing you to ski at whichever resort you choose.
Night Skiing
Night skiing is available at: Sunvalley Ski Area, Maruike Ski Area, Nishitateyama Ski Area (Takamagahara side), Takamagahara Mammoth Ski Area, Ichinose Family Ski Area, Ichinose Diamond Ski Area, Yakebitaiyama Ski Area, Kumanoyu Ski Area. Night skiing is not included in the ticket price.
Getting There
Closest Intl & Dom Airport: Narita Airport. 1hr on the Narita Express to Tokyo, runs daily. From Tokyo Station, take the Shinkansen Nagano Bullet Train (Asama Shinkansen) that departs regularly throughout the day, (1 ½ hours), from Nagano station direct buses run to Shiga Kogen (1 hr 10min).

Ski Resort Shuttles
Shuttle buses operate throughout the 21 resorts of Shiga Kogenand this is a complimentary service for anyone who has a Shiga Kogen ski lift pass. The service operates from 08:30am to 5:30pm daily.
Money in Shiga Kogen
When travelling in Japan particularly outside of the major city centres such as Tokyo, Osaka & Kyoto ensure that you have enough cash, as credit cards are not as widely acceppted. This is best arranged upon arrival at the airports in Japan where ATM machines and curreny exchange windows are widely available.
At Shiga Kogen Ski Resort the only ATM machine is located at the post office at Hasuike ski area and hours of operation are limited.
