Mt Hutt is nestled inside the Southern Alps overlooking a spectacular vista of the Canterbury Plains and in the distance, the Pacific Ocean.

Boasting one of the longest seasons in the Southern Hemisphere, Mt Hutt’s snow is dry, light
and reliable. A 40 minute drive from the Methven township Mt Hutt’s season runs from the early June to the end of October with the spring skiing being some of the best around. Whether you are an absolute beginner or an advanced powder hound, if you are into skiing or boarding then Mt Hutt is the place to do it. The awesome off trail opportunities and the immense runs off the Triple Chair make Mt Hutt a favourite with boarders.

Extreme skiers can marvel at the adrenaline pumping Black Diamond runs. The wide-open trails provide easy learning for novice skiers and excellent terrain to build on your existing skills. At the end of the day, head to Mt Hutt’s hometown of Methven. A relaxed and friendly country town, Methven comes alive in winter and is the perfect place to unwind after a great day on the slopes.
