Introduction:
From 21 December 2001, the Transonic Group of Companies and its related
entities including Concorde International Pty Limited ACN 003 237 296,
World Aviation Systems (Australia) Pty Limited ACN 003 237 189, Concorde
International Travel Services Pty Limited, comprising Newman's Holidays,
Air New Zealand Holidays, Rail Tickets, Qantas Vacations, Ski Express,
SmartFares, Travel Indochina, ItaliaTour and Concorde Leisure collectively
referred to as "us"; "we" and "Transonic", will be subject to the National
Privacy Principals under the Privacy Act 1988.
This Privacy Policy
explains in general how Transonic protects your privacy of personal information
under the National Privacy Principals. This policy will apply to any personal
information you provide to us:
When in making
a booking with us;
Via all Transonic
websites;
Under
any other arrangement or agreement;
Via a Travel
Agent or travel provider to whom you have provided personal information.
Transonic will at all times collect information in a fair and lawful manner.
What
kind of personal information Transonic collects:
What kind of personal information do we collect: The information we collect
depends upon the services, which we provide. For example, for travel arrangements
we may collect details such as visa information, photos, copies of passports,
name, address, telephone, email, age, where travelled, partners name,
frequent flyer information, contact numbers, insurance details, and "Sensitive
Information" as required for health reasons for the trip undertaken.
As a Consolidator
we collect information on Travel Agencies and Airlines for the purposes
of credit control and accounting. Details include: Company name, company
group, consultants name, sales amount ABN number, CAN number, IATA number,
ABTA number, address, telephone number, fax number, email. Some members
of the Transonic Group of Companies may use your IP address to help diagnose
problems with our server, to administer our website and for statistical
purposes.
Cookies:
We may use a feature of your browser "a Cookie" to assign your
computer a "User ID". Cookies do not contain information by which we can
identify you. They identify your computer to our servers. You may configure
your browser so that you are notified before a cookie is down loaded or
so that your browser does not accept cookies. We may use information contained
in cookies to make assumptions about the user of the computer and to provide
users of that computer with relevant material which we believe may be
of interest based on that information. To disable your cookies, please

How
we collect personal information:
We collect information from you via telephone, letter, fax, e-mail, web
sites, or if you deal with us in person. We may have occasion to collect
information about you from a third party. For example:

making travel arrangements on your behalf.
Market
research companies contracted by us to improve our products and services.
Trade
directories and associations to ensure quality assurance.
If you provide personal
information about another person to Transonic, Transonic requires you to
inform that person you have done so and provide them with a copy of this

we use your personal information:
Transonic may use information it collects from you for the primary purpose
for which it is collected and for such other secondary purposes that are
related to the primary purpose for collection. Generally, we use personal

provide you with the products and services you have requested.

fulfil travel bookings and related processes.
For
internal administration.
Occasionally
for marketing purposes but in those instances you will be given the option
of not receiving communications.
To
conduct market research and sales and other marketing activities.
Some of the information
that we collect is personal information essential to our business and
to facilitate the processes thereof. In most cases where we ask you to
provide information about yourself, if you do not provide us with that
information, we will not be able to provide you with the requested product
or service.
Disclosure
to third parties:
Transonic may disclose personal information to other members of the Transonic
Group of Companies, which may only use it as set out above. Transonic may
also provide your information to:

parties engaged by us to perform functions on our behalf such as processing
credit card information, mail outs, debt collection, marketing, research
and advertising.

authorised by you to receive information held by Transonic.

How
Transonic treats Sensitive Information:
"Sensitive Information" means information relating to a person's
racial or ethnic origin, membership of political bodies, religion, membership
of a trade union or professional or trade association, sexual preferences,
criminal records and health. As we are required by law to obtain your
consent to the collection of Sensitive Information, we will assume you
have given us your consent to collect that information unless you advise
us in writing otherwise.
Transonic may use and
disclose Sensitive Information only for the purpose for which it was provided
or a directly related secondary purpose or as allowed by law unless you
have agreed otherwise.
Access and accountability of information we hold about you:
You have the right to seek access to personal information held about you
and to advise us of any inaccuracy. There are some exceptions to this
right set out in the Privacy Act. If you make an access request, Transonic
will ask you to verify your identity and specify what information you
require. We may charge a fee to cover the costs of meeting your request.

complete and up-to-date, when we collect it or use it. If any of your

the Transonic Group of Companies as outlined above.

We may transfer your personal details overseas to fulfil the services
requested of us, for example:

offices of a member of the Transonic Group of Companies.

including operators of GDS, hotels, tour operators, airlines, foreign
