Turoa

Turoa Ski Area offers a great variety of slopes to challenge skiers and riders of all levels. Alpine Meadow is a fantastic beginners area, the intermediate slopes are mostly wide and smooth and it offers 25 black and black diamond runs to conquer. Turoa is located on the south western slopes of Mt Ruapehu.

With the largest lift accessed terrain and highest lift in NZ and the longest Vertical descent in Australasia, Mt Ruapehu provides more terrain, more choice and more freedom.

The north island ski areas Whakapapa and Turoa have the best access roads of any New Zealand ski area and are even suitable for those guest travelling in motorhomes. Located only 4 hours south of Auckland, Mt Ruapehu is the place to go to experience what is it is like to ski or ride an active volcano.

Kids are best catered for at Turoa ski area with a licensed childcare centre for children aged 2–5.
