On boarding a luxury glass roofed coach in Queenstown, visitors enjoy a trip along the shores of Lake Wakatipu and through the rolling countryside to Te Anau. The coach driver provides an informative commentary in English only. Interpretation material is available in foreign languages. After a morning tea break in Te Anau, where visitors have the option of purchasing refreshments, the coach continues along the spectacular Milford Road. On reaching Milford Sound, visitors board the Milford Haven, Milford Mariner or M.V. Sinbad for a leisurely two-hour cruise of Milford Sound. These vessels are purpose built for operating in a fiord environment and an on-board nature guide will share stories about Piopiotahi (Milford Sound) and help you spot the famous local wildlife. There is plenty of time available to explore points of interest and to view the stunning scenery, including waterfalls, rainforest and the towering peaks. Restaurant quality food & beer on tap (cash only on-board) and barista coffee and tea available (extra cost) or include a seasonal packed lunch (extra cost).
